‘Fashion’s biggest night’ - the Met Gala 2025 made its coveted yearly comeback on the first Monday of May 2025. This year’s theme was "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" to honour the tailored fit through the designer’s momentous contribution to fashion. The inspiration was taken from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.
The guest list, this year, had the solemn responsibility of honouring the tailored fit, and we could see celebrities in fitted suits and dresses to represent dandy style. But, one thing that was spotted significantly on many A-list celebrities was sunglasses. From Miley Cyrus to Amelia Gray and Joe Burrow, the stars did not shy away from donning sunnies and honouring the occasion. In this blog, let’s break down some of the top-celebrity eyewear looks.
Amelia Gray Hamlin
The very popular American TV actress and model Amelia Gray was spotted in a head-to-toe scarlet lace ensemble. The striking red colour is perfect to be a showstopper, and we can’t deny that. Spanish model and actor Jon Kortajarena was seen on the steps of the Met Gala 2025. He went for a crisp white dinner jacket with black trousers and leather shoes for a more tuxedo-driven style. His look was even more special because he was carrying a red boutonnière and classic pilot sunglasses. Offering a more old-money vibe, he was looking nothing but just stunning. His pilot sunglasses were definitely a star of his look as they perfectly matched his moustache and black bow tie.

All our childhood has been linked to one thing, and that’s Hannah Montana. I mean, call me biased, but it was obvious that this list would have been incomplete without her. Call her Miley or Hannah, but this look of hers from Met is one of my favourites. She made a bold return with a long-sleeved black crocodile‑leather crop top with ruffled taffeta maxi skirt that beautifully exposes her snatched midriff. To complete her look, she opted for an all-black rectangular sunglasses that look stunning on her round face.
Jeff Goldblum
Iconic actor, jazz musician, and style maven— you’ll know that’s Jeff Goldblum. To honour cultural and political aspects, he chose his Met Gala 2025 look to be classic with hints of drama. He wore a dark suit, crisp white shirt, black bow tie, with a black overcoat. The steal of his look was definitely that fur collar and tinted rectangle sunglasses.
