Specscart Hosts Macmillan Coffee Morning to Support Cancer Care

September always brings a little shift in the air. You can experience cooler mornings, busier days, and that comforting return of routine. But it also brings something even more meaningful, a chance to come together as a community to support a cause close to so many hearts. We’re talking about the Macmillan Coffee Morning, one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, where a simple cup of coffee and a slice of cake can go a long way in helping people living with cancer.

At Specscart, being rooted in our local community has always been at the heart of what we do. Yes, we’re passionate about eyewear, but we’re equally passionate about creating spaces where people feel connected, cared for, and part of something bigger. That’s why we’re proud to host Macmillan Coffee Morning events across all three of our stores this September.

When & Where

Here’s when you can join us:

• Specscart Urmston Store – 18th September, 9:00–11:00 a.m.

• Specscart Walkden & Bury Stores – 26th September, 9:00–11:00 a.m.

The format is simple and delicious! We’ll be serving free coffee and cakes throughout the morning. All we ask in return is a small donation, with every penny going towards Macmillan Cancer Support and the incredible work they do for patients and families.

Specscart was born at the University of Manchester, and we can never forget the heartwarming support we got as a small business from the local community. Our journey from a single store in Walkden to three stores, a state-of-the-art glazing lab, and glasses reaching more than 132 countries through our e-commerce store has only been possible because of the community that’s stood with us. Events like this are a reminder that we’re not just an eyewear brand, we’re neighbours, friends, and fellow community members who care.
